TYPES OF POSTAL ARTICLES

Mails handled by the Post Office are classified into 10 kinds

 Ist  Class Mail:

1)     Letters

2)     Letter Cards

3)     Post Cards

 

    II Class Mail:

     

4)     Book Packets

5)     Book packets containing Printed Books

6)     Book Packets containing Periodicals

7)     Sample or Pattern Packets

8)     Blind literature Packets

9)     Registered News Papers.

10)  Parcels.

·       Item 1 to 9 termed as “Letter Mail” and 10^th as “Parcel Mail”.

·       First Class mails get airlift wherever possible without customer paying air surcharge, whereas the second-class mail will be air lifted, only when the sender pays for it.

·
